How can you diversify the menu? Unusual pork soup in a slow cooker!

Can you imagine lunch without a first course? Every housewife wants the menu to be varied and original.

If you are bored with traditional cabbage soup, pickles and chicken broth, treat your family. Rich, aromatic, delicious pork soup in a slow cooker will be the hit of your meal.

You don't have to be a culinary genius to cook something interesting from an ordinary set of ingredients. Smart kitchen appliances will do everything themselves, preserving maximum vitamins and filling the dish with mouth-watering aromas.

Soups with meat broths are good to consume during the cold season to warm up and recharge your energy. The main ingredient - pork - is chosen based on personal preference.

For those who want to limit their fat intake, it is better to take a dietary piece. And for the lucky ones who like to eat delicious food without worrying about counting calories, you can buy meat with fat streaks or ribs.

To ensure that the finished dish does not turn out to be just another variation of the usual soup (meat-potatoes-onions-carrots), you need to add an original accent that will complement or completely change the taste of the treat.

Usually, an additional vegetable component is used for this: beans, several cauliflower inflorescences, zucchini, bell pepper.

We decided to diversify the soup with pork in the slow cooker by adding canned peas and cream. The first ingredient, in addition to a new note in a familiar dish, will give the soup an appetizing appearance.

And the cream will soften the pronounced taste of pork. As a result, we got a hearty dish with a surprisingly delicate and tender aftertaste for a meat broth.

So let's start doing some magic. Prepare the following foods:

Step 1

Prepare the main components. Wash and peel the onions, carrots and potatoes. Rinse the meat under running water, remove any films.

If the pork has a clearly defined hard fat layer, remove it - even after heat treatment, a piece of lard will remain lard, and it is unlikely that anyone will be tempted by it.

But you can leave a thin layer of fat; during cooking, such a piece will become soft and tender. Cut the meat into portions. Calculate their size so that each plate gets a couple of delicious pieces.

Step 2

Finely chop the onion. Select the multicooker mode “Frying” (the “Baking” function is also suitable), setting the time to 15 minutes. Grease the bowl with oil, add the onions and meat, and place in the slow cooker.

Step 3

Fry, stirring occasionally and keeping an eye on the onions. In this case, the principle “The more the better” does not work; you need not to overexpose the onion and subtly grasp the moment when its slices acquire a light golden color.

Continue frying until the meat releases its juices. Be sure to turn the pieces over so they are browned on all sides. Add the julienned carrots to the bowl. Continue to worship with vegetables and meat until the course is over.

It’s easy to know when the product is ready - the carrots should become soft. If for some reason the time is up, but you doubt whether the frying is ready, add a couple more minutes to the program.

Step 4

Place the diced potatoes in a bowl. Open the can of peas, drain the liquid and pour half of the contents into the future soup. An interesting option: instead of canned peas, you can use fresh or frozen peas.

If you want to enrich the bouquet with fresh green peas, you should add them along with the spices at the end of cooking. And frozen ones can be placed along with other vegetables without defrosting.

Step 5

Pour about two and a half liters of boiled water into the container and set the “Soup” or “Stew” program for 1 hour. 15 minutes before the beep, open the lid and add salt, pepper, and bay leaf to the bowl.

When the program ends, pour in the cream.

Attention! Cream is poured in only after the selected mode is completed. If you add them to boiling soup, they will separate. It’s not very pleasant to see whitish flakes floating in a plate, is it?

After the soup has infused, you can begin serving. Place finely chopped dill or parsley directly into the plate with the steaming treat.

If the creamy note present is not enough, you can add a little finely grated hard cheese to the soup. This will make the dish more satisfying, so if you are trying to limit your calorie intake, it is better to refrain from this step.

The soup prepared according to this recipe is enough for lunch for an ordinary family, there is even some left over. The food should be stored in the refrigerator, but not longer than a couple of days. The cream that makes the dish tender and delicate can insidiously turn sour.
