Lavash with Korean. How to cook pita bread roll with Korean carrots: recipes

A lavash roll with Korean carrots, which every housewife can prepare, will be an excellent snack at any time of the year and in any setting. The main ingredients are: thin pita bread, Korean carrots (you can buy in a store or make it yourself), cheese (processed or soft), egg, mayonnaise (store-bought, farm-made or home-made).

Secondary ingredients for the filling depend on your preferences. It can be:

  • garlic;
  • greenery;
  • meat products (sausage, chicken, ham).

If you don’t want to buy ready-made pita bread, Korean carrots and mayonnaise in the store, you can make them at home. The quantity of products in grams is approximate. If the mass of the ingredient is not indicated, then you need to decide on the quantity at your own discretion.

Preparing the main filling

Before making lavash rolls, you should prepare the filling in a separate plate (for one standard sheet of lavash):

  1. Hard boil one egg, then cool it. Finely chop the peeled white and yolk with a knife or grate on a coarse grater. Pour into a plate.
  2. Grate soft or semi-hard cheese on a fine grater. If you bought processed cheese, chop it with a knife. Place on a plate with the egg.
  3. Place about 50-60 grams of Korean carrots on a plate with cheese and egg. Mix thoroughly. It is recommended to chop the carrots a little if the straws are very long.
  4. Add mayonnaise and mix everything again.

Add salt and pepper to taste. Before doing this, try the “minced meat”, since the carrots already have them.

The recipe for lavash roll with Korean carrots is quite simple if all the ingredients have already been purchased and chopped in advance. In this case, you should simply combine them in one container and stir. But if you want everything to be as natural and healthy as possible, then you will have to allocate an additional few hours for preparation. Let's look at how you can prepare Korean carrots, mayonnaise and pita bread yourself.

Korean carrot

Choose a thick, but not very long carrot, take a special Korean carrot grater (if you don’t have one, cut it thinly into strips) and grate it into a separate container. For one lavash roll, it is enough to grate about 50-60 grams of raw vegetable. Then sweeten with ½ teaspoon sugar and sea salt (at the tip of a teaspoon). Add 9% vinegar (1 teaspoon) at the very end. Next, stir the resulting mixture with your hand. Place the carrots in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

For a pita roll with Korean carrots, it is not necessary to make the popular filling of mushrooms, squid or soy meat; just an orange vegetable is enough. After 20 minutes, remove the carrots from the refrigerator. Use ground red and black pepper (¼ teaspoon each), stir. At the end, vegetable oil (3 teaspoons) is added and everything is mixed again. Let the finished salad stand in the refrigerator for another 2-3 hours.

Homemade mayonnaise

If you have a mixer or immersion blender, the cooking process will go much faster. Take one raw egg, about 100 ml of vegetable oil (or milk), if desired, you can add a little mustard powder, salt and sugar. Combine all ingredients in a blender bowl and blend at maximum speed until thick. It is very important that the yolk gets to the bottom of the bowl intact when broken.

Thick mayonnaise can be used almost immediately for lavash rolls with Korean carrots.

Thin pita bread

To make thin pita bread yourself, you need to take the required amount of flour (about 100-150 grams), a little hot water (enough so that the flour turns into a semi-thick paste) and a little salt. It all gets mixed up. Then the dough is kneaded by hand. When it is ready, it should be placed in a container and covered with a towel. Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.

Next, using a rolling pin, roll out the dough pieces into a thin layer and fry them in a frying pan on both sides (1 minute on each side). The frying process is similar to baking pancakes, only without greasing the pan with oil.

Spray the finished cakes with a spray bottle and cover the stack with a towel. In this case, it is recommended to make a roll of pita bread, cheese, and Korean carrots right away so that the finished flatbreads do not dry out.

The pita bread should be placed on a flat surface, then the filling should be applied with a spoon. It should be evenly distributed over the surface. Then the roll is made.

Additional filling

Now let's look at what additional filling there is. It all depends on what you and your loved ones and guests like. You can cook one roll with chicken, another with garlic, and the third mixed.

It makes no sense to consider each recipe for lavash roll with Korean carrots separately, since you can add anything to the container with egg, carrots, cheese and mayonnaise. Only the cooking options may differ.

For example, if the chicken fillet is raw, it should be boiled and then chopped. And only after that add it to the main filling. Smoked sausage, ham or sausages are finely chopped with a knife and also added to the egg, cheese and Korean carrots.

As for garlic, you need to select 1-2 small cloves (more if desired), peel, chop in a garlic press and add to the mixture.

Simple and tasteful

Remember that the compatibility of the ingredients must be observed, and the snack must have an exquisite taste from harmoniously combined products.

It can be consumed as a separate food, or with tea, compote, or juice.

To ensure that the roll is well soaked, it is advisable to place the finished product in the refrigerator for several hours. If it is stored for a long time, it may deteriorate; to prevent this from happening, after the meal the remaining portion should be put in a cold place. It is recommended to eat no more than a couple of days in advance, and ideally in one sitting soon after preparation.

Everyone will like lavash rolls and filling with Korean carrots, but it all depends on the additional ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet of pita bread;
  • 3 tbsp. l. mayonnaise;
  • 0.5 cups Korean carrots;
  • 100-150 g ham;
  • greens for decoration.

Preparation:

Place a rectangular sheet of lavash with a larger side measuring 35-40 cm and a smaller side measuring 20-25 cm on a flat surface (this could just be a countertop in your kitchen - dry and clean, of course). Spread mayonnaise on lavash.

Using a teaspoon, spread the mayonnaise on the pita bread. Try to make sure that the mayonnaise reaches almost to the edges of the rectangle - then the edges of the roll will be edible, and not just the middle.

We will need ham or any smoked meat, but it will certainly be tasty.

Three hams on a coarse grater. The resulting pieces are ideal for filling pita bread - not too large, but not very small either.

Now it's the turn of Korean carrots. It is usually sold in fairly long strips. We cut the strips, leaving them about 1.5-2 cm long.

We spread the grated ham on the pita bread in a not very thick layer, but so that the ham covers the entire surface.

Now place Korean carrots on top of the ham. The requirements are still the same - the layer of carrots should not be too thick, but at the same time, the carrots should cover the entire ham, without leaving empty spaces.

And now the most important point - we roll the pita bread into a tube. At the same time, try to do this in such a way that the roll turns out tight: each new turn should fit tightly to the previous one.

We pack the pita bread tightly in foil and put it in the refrigerator to soak. This usually takes about two hours.

A plastic sheet of lavash is a boundless field for culinary experiments, and a Korean-style lavash roll with carrots is a bright and original cold appetizer.

Spicy spicy carrot “noodles” are perfectly complemented by long slices of boiled meat or sausage. The filling needs to be held together with some kind of sauce - mayonnaise, ketchup or a mixture of them - but there is no need to overload the product with it so that the thin crust does not break through. It must be rolled up tightly, secured with cling film, and placed in the refrigerator for an hour. Do not divide the roll into small pieces, otherwise there is a risk of losing the filling.

Ingredients

  • lavash 30 × 40 cm - 1 pc.
  • Korean carrots - 150 g
  • sausage - 150 g
  • mayonnaise - 60 ml
  • dill - 5 sprigs
  • parsley - 5 sprigs

Preparation

1. As for sausages, boiled, smoked and even dry-cured sausage are perfect. Cut it into small small pieces. You can replace the sausage with finely chopped boiled chicken.

2. Rinse the spicy herbs (parsley and dill in our recipe) and dry. Tear off the leaves and chop finely.

3. Grease the pita bread with mayonnaise or full-fat sour cream mixed with grated garlic. The indicated amount of mayonnaise (sour cream) can be changed to your taste; you don’t need to add too much so that the layer does not soften and tear.

4. Sprinkle chopped herbs over the entire layer.

5. Evenly distribute the Korean carrots onto the layer of greens.

6. Add chopped sausage.

7. Carefully roll into a tight roll. Wrap with cling film. Place in the refrigerator for approximately 20–30 minutes. If you don't have any cling film, a plastic bag will do just fine.
